The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the 2026 Change of Institution and Course process for candidates who wish to modify their admission choices after the release of the UTME results.

This update gives candidates another opportunity to make better academic decisions based on their performance, preferred schools, or departmental requirements.

According to JAMB, candidates can now visit accredited CBT centres nationwide to process:

  • Change of Institution
  • Change of Course
  • Correction of Data
  • Printing of Original Result Slip

The process became active on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Why Candidates Change Institution or Course

Many candidates usually apply for changes after checking their UTME scores and comparing them with the cut-off marks of their selected institutions or departments. Some may also discover new career interests or decide to choose schools with higher admission chances.

Experts advise candidates to carefully research before making any changes to avoid mistakes that could affect their admission process.

Important Notice to Candidates

JAMB has warned candidates to use only accredited CBT centres for any correction or modification process. Candidates are also advised to avoid fraudsters and fake websites promising admission assistance.

How to Apply for Change of Institution or Course

  1. Visit any accredited JAMB CBT centre
  2. Provide your registration details
  3. Request for the desired correction
  4. Make the required payment
  5. Confirm and print your updated details

Candidates are encouraged to act early before institutions begin admission screenings and cut-off announcements.

The 2026 admission process is already progressing, and candidates are advised to stay updated with official information from JAMB and their chosen institutions.
